Privacy policy
SummaryYour games stay on your phone. Only if you make or join a group are they shared with that group, through a server in Frankfurt. No ads, no analytics, no tracking.
1. Who is responsible
Hex Knight is made by Damir Aleksić, trading as Split Pixel, Split, Croatia. He is the controller of the data described here. Contact: hello@splitpixel.eu.
2. Without a group: everything stays on your phone
Player names, player photos, scores, game history, dice rolls, maps and settings are stored only in the app's private storage on your device. The app sends nothing anywhere and works fully offline.
3. With a group: what is shared and where
A group lets several phones see the same game history. It is off until you choose "Make a group" or "Join a group", and only people with the group's code can join.
| Data | Who can see it | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Finished games: player names, scores, date, game length, map, dice rolls | Members of the group | Shared game history |
| Player photos (small, 128 px) | Members of the group | Shown next to the names |
| Your name in the group, the date you joined | Members of the group | Member list |
| A random sign-in ID for your phone | Nobody (used by the server only) | To know which phone is a member |
- No account. The app signs in anonymously; it never asks for your e-mail, phone number or Google account.
- Where: Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication), data centre in Frankfurt, Germany. Google acts as a data processor under the Firebase data processing terms. The connection is encrypted (HTTPS).
- Other people's data: player names and photos often belong to your friends. Add them to a group only if they are fine with it.
- The developer can technically access the group data through the Firebase console, but looks at it only to fix a problem or to delete data on request.
4. How long it is kept
Group games stay on the server as long as the group exists. The person who made the group can delete games for everyone and remove members. If you leave a group, your membership is deleted at once; the games you already shared stay in the group. Groups with no members, and everything in them, are deleted on request or when the developer cleans up unused groups.
5. Permissions
Hex Knight uses only Internet (for groups; nothing else uses it) and Vibration (for dice and counters). Player photos are picked through Android's own picker, so the app has no access to your gallery or camera.
6. Android device backup
If backup is turned on in your phone's settings, Android may include Hex Knight's data in your regular device backup, which Google stores in your own Google account. The developer has no access to those backups. A backup file you create in the app goes only where you choose to share it.
7. Third parties
Hex Knight contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking libraries. Apart from Firebase for groups (section 3), no third party receives data from the app. The purchase is handled by Google Play under Google's privacy policy; the developer never sees your payment details.
8. Children
Hex Knight is not directed at children under 13.
9. Deleting your data
- On your phone: uninstall the app, or open Android Settings › Apps › Hex Knight › Storage › Clear data.
- In a group: leave the group in Stats › Group (your membership is deleted). To delete games you shared, ask the person who made the group, or write to hello@splitpixel.eu with the group code and the deletion will be done within 30 days.
10. Your rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you may ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable form. Write to hello@splitpixel.eu. The legal basis for group data is providing the feature you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You can also lodge a complaint with the Croatian data protection authority, AZOP (azop.hr).
11. Changes to this policy
If the app starts handling data differently, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
