Privacy policy
SummaryYour receipts never reach me. They live on your phone — and, if you turn on backup, in your own Google Drive.
1. Who is responsible
Stopko is made by Damir Aleksić, trading as Split Pixel, Split, Croatia. Contact: hello@splitpixel.eu.
2. What the app handles
| Data | Where it's stored | Sent to the developer |
|---|---|---|
| Receipt photos, scans and PDFs, attachments | Your phone; your Google Drive if backup is on | Never |
| Items, store, purchase date, amount, warranty length, categories | Your phone; included in the Drive backup | Never |
| Text and QR code read from receipts | Read on your phone, not in the cloud | Never |
| Reminder settings | Your phone | Never |
| The Google account you chose for backup | Your phone (only its address, so backup can run in the background) | Never |
The developer does not run any server for Stopko and cannot see your receipts, your purchases or your Google account.
3. Permissions and why
- Notifications — to remind you before a warranty expires. Reminders are scheduled on your phone.
- Internet — used only for the Google Drive backup.
That is all. Photos come through Android's own photo picker and PDFs through the file picker, so the app sees only the files you choose. The camera scanner screen is provided by Google Play services; the app itself has no camera permission and receives only the finished scan.
4. Reading receipts
The purchase date, store and amount are read on your phone, from the QR code of Croatian fiscal receipts or from the receipt text, using Google's ML Kit. Receipt images are not uploaded for this. ML Kit may send Google technical information about how these features perform — device model and Android version, app version, processing times and error codes, and a random per-installation ID. It does not include your receipts or anything on them.
5. Google Drive backup
When you turn on backup and choose a Google account, Stopko saves your receipts and their details in the app's own hidden folder in that Google Drive (Google calls it "app data"), so you can restore them on a new phone. The app can see only this folder, not the rest of your Drive. The last 7 backups are kept. The backup is stored by Google under Google's privacy policy. You can turn backup off at any time in the app's settings.
You can also export everything to a ZIP file yourself. That file goes only where you save or send it.
6. Android device backup
Stopko excludes its data from Android's own device backup and device-to-device transfer, so that it can't overwrite what you restore from the app's backup.
7. Sharing a receipt
When you tap "Share receipt" (for example for a warranty claim), the receipt goes to the app you pick, under that app's rules. Nothing is sent without your action.
8. Third parties
No ads, no analytics, no tracking. Apart from Google Drive (only if you use backup), ML Kit and Google Play services (sections 3 and 4) and Google Play, which handles the purchase, no third party receives any data from the app. The developer never sees your payment details.
9. Children
Stopko is meant for adults and is not directed at children.
10. Deleting your data
- On the phone: delete items in the app, or uninstall it.
- The Drive backup: in Google Drive on the web, open Settings › Manage apps › Stopko › Options › Delete hidden app data. You can also remove the app's access in your Google account under Security › Your connections to third-party apps & services.
- ZIP files you exported: delete them wherever you saved them.
11. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask what data is held about you and have it corrected or deleted. Because all Stopko data is held on your device and in your own Google account, you can exercise these rights directly yourself, as described above. If something is unclear, write to me. You can also lodge a complaint with the Croatian data protection authority, AZOP (azop.hr).
12. Changes to this policy
If the app starts handling data differently, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
